The most widely used valve sealing ring materials include polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), nylon (NYLON), and synthetic rubber. The basic properties and application scope of these materials are as follows
1、 Polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE
Polytetrafluoroethylene is commonly used in globe valves, gate valves, ball valves, etc. with a temperature of t ≤ 230 ℃ and a nominal pressure of PN ≤ 6.4MPa. It can be filled with various materials according to the requirements of the valve's operating pressure, temperature, chemical corrosion resistance, and wear resistance.
2、 Nylon
Nylon has the characteristics of low friction coefficient and good corrosion resistance. Nylon is commonly used for ball valves, globe valves, etc. with a temperature of t ≤ 90 ℃ and a nominal pressure of PN ≤ 32MPa.
3、 Synthetic rubber
Synthetic rubber has better comprehensive properties such as oil resistance, temperature resistance, and corrosion resistance than natural rubber. The general usage temperature of synthetic rubber is t ≤ 200 ℃. Rubber is used for sealing valves with a nominal pressure of PN ≤ 1MPa, such as globe valves, gate valves, diaphragm valves, butterfly valves, check valves, and clamp valves.
