Fluoroelastomer is a copolymer of vinyl fluoride and hexafluoropropylene. According to its molecular structure and fluorine content, the chemical and low-temperature resistance of fluoroelastomers also vary. Fluoroelastomers are known for their excellent flame retardancy, excellent airtightness, high temperature resistance, ozone resistance, climate resistance, oxidation resistance, mineral oil resistance, fuel oil resistance, hydraulic oil resistance, aromatic and many organic solvents and chemicals resistance. [1]
For universal grades, it is best to limit the temperature for use under static sealing to around -26 ℃ (-15 ℉) to 282 ℃ (450 ℉). Although it can still be used for a short period of time at a temperature of 295 ℃, its service life will be shortened when the temperature exceeds 282 ℃. The most suitable temperature for use under dynamic sealing is between -15 ℃ and 280 ℃ The low temperature can reach -40 ℃.
